The airbox is a prominent element on the 308 engine and the one on this car is not in great shape. The box should be stripped and repainted to really highlight the motor.

I ordered a silly firing order plate to install on the airbox in the original position. It looks like it rivets onto the box on the right side.
The air intake duct has a split 'Y' shape, with a not very nice tube attached with duct tape. This is to feed cool air down towards the differential. This started in 1978 cars with the catalyst.
