Reinstallation

Once the tank was repainted, the installation was very straightforward. We added the silly sticker, then mounted the tank in place. The refreshed paint looks amazing and the lack of rust on the fittings make installation very easy.

We used Gates heater hoses for the replacement lines:

Gates 28489 3/8" ID, .69" OD, 17.5mm

Gates 28492 3/4" ID, 1.02" OD, 25.9mm

Overflow Hose 6mm

The Gates Hoses are very high quality, but a little plain. To dress up the hoses, we used Flexo PET Wire Sleeve. This installs over the tube and then is secured with heat shrink. The heat shrink I acquired was weird, so we went with Tesa engine tape.

The engine tape must be installed AFTER the hose is fitted, as it is too strong and does not allow the tube to open to fit over the barb on the fitting.

We used plain hose clamps to secure but would like to switch to ABA or constant pressure clamps in the future.
